One of our Directors and her family has just returned from Vell Mari in C’an Picafort, Majorca and would like to share their experience:
“Vell Mari is situated in the quieter suburb of Son Baulo, the surrounding area is very flat and is located a pleasant 10 minute walk to the beach area and nearest shops. C’an Picafort centre is a further 5 mins walk and definitely well worth a visit. The resort centre has a beautiful pedestrianised promenade with pavement bars and cafes, and an abundance of shops. Alcudia is a further five miles along the coast and can easily be reached by regular bus service. The hotel is fantastic for families of all ages and caters for a mixed European market; the rooms are very clean and spacious and are situated in picturesque gardens in several 3 story blocks around a large free-form swimming pool. There is also a smaller children’s pool with Splash Park for younger guests. My pet hate when on holiday is ‘sunbed reserving’ and I have to say as long as you were up by 9-9.30 there were no problems securing sunbeds around the pool area. We were staying at Vell Mari on an all inclusive basis, which was excellent value for money; the food was varied and plentiful with ice-cream available throughout the day and evening, which was very popular with the kids, as was the slush! There were football, tennis courts and a volley ball court which kept the older kids entertained. The entertainment team worked very hard to ensure everyone had a good time, activities were available throughout the day for those who wished to participate, however there was no pressure to join in if you preferred to just relax or do your own thing. There was a kids club and on-site spa, neither of which we used so can’t comment on standards or suitability. There was entertainment every night, with a variety of acts some being better than others! I would definitely recommend Vell Mari to families and we would definitely return in the future.”
